Students will learn the
art of drawing blood, blood testing and methods of specimen
collection such as urinalysis and other body fluids for
examination. Students will also learn medical terminology,
anatomy and physiology, phlebotomy history, forms, tubes and
data entry. They will also gain the ability to develop the
skills necessary to promote laboratory safety (OSHA) and (HIPAA)
compliance, as well as learn how to use and care for a
microscope, centrifuge and other laboratory equipment. Also,
students will become certified in First Aid and CPR.
